WHY THE NSA
The New Security Alliance is a non-profit research and educational institution whose mission is to build clear, forward-looking policy options in support of liberal democracies, and our remarkable way of life.
Our goal is to enable policy-makers and business leaders to develop and direct confident and clear safety and security policies.
Under looming global and regional threats – from cyber terrorism, to natural disasters, to unregulated technology – policy-makers now require courageous and fresh research and policy recommendations.

WHO ARE WE
Located in London, England, home to nearly one millennia of evolutionary democracy, our New Security Alliance brings together decision-makers – from governments, business, NGO and media organisations – in order to provide clear and workable policies in future areas of national security, civil defence and emergency planning.
Our research and events programmes therefore hold as their core mission the proposal of recommendations to help counter rising tides of international and national threats to liberal democracy and relaxed, tolerant, open societies.
By ‘liberal democracy’, we mean those individual freedoms and rights won so hardily by our forefathers and enshrined in the 1948 UN Declaration of Human Rights. Humanity’s rights were passionately agreed by leaders from all states and religions after the desecration of global warfare.
In accordance with our Strategic Plan, agreed by our International Advisory Council, pragmatic policy options and recommendations will be offered principally in the domains of:
- State-directed cyber wars, industrial-scale cyber-crime and state-sanctioned electoral manipulation
- The spread of authoritarian thinking and violent ideology, including by governments, religious groups, advocacy groups and ‘lone wolves’
- Challenging and supporting policy makers and the tech industry to prioritise safety and security in technical developments and product releases
We work hard to bring together the most relevant, brightest and best scholars, industry-thinkers, and futurists. Our objective will always be to produce clear and confident strategy and policy options in support of civil democracy.
As such, our New Security Alliance is independent and non-partisan. We do not take pre-determined institutional ‘positions’ in our work. Policy recommendations and conclusions should be treated as products gleaned from objective research and logical problem-solving: we rigorously follow the evidence.
